Luncheon Meeting with Dr. Stephan Joel Tractenberg, President of George Washington University 05/11/04/
　The meeting with Dr. Tractenberg was held at Hilton Tokyo on September 17, 2005. The theme of the discussion was "Management of University". As one of the best leaders of academics, his excellent thought derived from long and valuable experiences as the president of GWU stimulated people's minds in the meeting.
Global Innovation Summit "Strategies for Global Prosperity" was held at Nagoya

　Summit on Innovation in 21st Century was held at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel on September 15, 2005, gathering leaders of business, academics and government from U.S., Japan, Asia, Great Britain and Pacific Rim Countries. The Summit was co-hosted by many organizations including Council on Competitiveness, The Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and The Business -University forum of Japan.

　Breakfast meeting with Mr. Daniel D. Poneman was held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004　at Hotel Okura's "Mayfair Room". A principal of the Scowcraft Group, Mr. Poneman provides strategic advice to the Group clients in the energy, aerospace, information technology, and manufacturing industries, among others.

　From 1993 through 1996, Mr. Poneman served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Nonproliferation and Export Controls at the National Security Council. During that period, he participated in negotiations and consultations with governments in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the former Soviet Union. He is also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations now.

　Breakfast meeting with Dr. Dan L. Crippen was held on Friday, June 27, 2003 at Hotel Okura's "Mayfair Room". Dr. Crippen served as the fifth director of the Congressional Budget Office until January 3rd, 2003.

　He specializes in issues relating to the federal budget, health care, retirement and Information Technology. We had a Q&A time about the U.S. politics, the system of federal budget, Information Technology and annuity system.

　Dr. Wolfgang Weber, President of the University of Paderborn, who joined the 10th anniversary meeting of this Japan Business-University Forum last year, came to Japan during May 11th to 15th, and we had a chance to hold a breakfast meeting at Palace Hotel "Wakakusa Room " on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.

　We exchanged opinions on Business-University cooperation by citing each of our own country's examples.
